Lesson Title: The Friendly Stars

Description: Students will be introduced to the star projector and some objects in the day sky, including the Sun. They’ll talk with “Sol,” learn the names of the planets in order from the Sun, and meet some of the Sun’s brothers and sisters in the night sky.

Standards addressed:

1) SD 4 a Investigates, compares, and contrasts seasonal changes in the immediate environment
2) SD 4 c Participates in activities to explore the earth (rocks, soil, air) and sky (clouds, sun, moon, stars) Classify objects according to those seen in the day sky and those seen in the night sky.
