The Hermit thrush is a relatively common nesting bird in northern forests and at high elevations.  However, it is often heard more than it is seen.

Hermit thrushes are common during spring and fall migration in the Atlanta area.  Nearly all spot breasted thrushes seen in the winter in the U.S. are Hermit thrushes.
