Cedar Waxwing
Bombycilla cedrorum

• Pale brown crest
• Black eye patch and chin
• Pale brown head fading into pale yellow belly
• Dark brown back
• Dark wings with thin, red bar
• Black tail with yellow tip
• Frequently found in large flocks feeding on fruit

Habitat

Mid-canopy nester, however Cedar Waxwings are rarely seen alone.  Usually they are in large flocks in search of berries, which makes up the majority of their diet.

Status

Cedar waxwings are common in Atlanta during spring migration and in the winter
