Field Marks
  • White eye
  • Yellow spectacles and dusky lores
  • Two bold whitish wing bars
  • Gray-olive head and olive back
  • White underparts with yellow flanks

Habitat

White-eyed Vireos prefer dense undergrowth and thickets, where they forage and build their nests.

Status

Common summer resident is often heard before it is seen.  Is also common during spring and fall migration.
