Rachel Fiore has been teaching at Fernbank Science Center since 1995. Prior to that she lived in Baltimore where she obtained her B.A. in Biology from Johns Hopkins University and her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. After graduate school, she went through the alternative teacher certification program at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and worked for one year as an intern at The Stadium School.

Rachel has had a variety of responsibilities since joining Fernbank including writing and publishing the Children’s Newsletters and functioning as the Elementary Science Coordinator from 2003 – 2010. Currently, in addition to teaching Outreach, Single Visits and STT Cell Biology, she is developing science centers for early elementary students.
