Tibetan Monks Visit Fernbank Science Center
During their visit to Fernbank Science Center, the monks were able to visit the planetarium and went on a "behind the scenes" tour of the FSC live animal exhibit. The monks were selected as Tenzin Gyatso scholars as part of the Emory Tibet Science Initiative and will be studying at Emory University for two more years.
The monks practice Tibetan Buddhism, which is a body of Buddhism commonly practiced in several countries such as Mongolia and India, not just in Tibet. All of them live in India now and were educated in various Indian monasteries, mostly in the south. See below for images from their visit.
