Teachers explored Cloudland Canyon State Park and observed the changes in plant communities in the canyon.

Teachers compared the size of the longleaf pinecone to the more familiar loblolly pinecone.

On the sandhills at Little Ocmulgee State Park teachers saw different stages in the life of a longleaf pine.

Water samples were collected at a blackwater stream at Little Ocmulgee State Park.
At Sosebee Cove the group enjoyed the rich plant diversity found in a cove forest including this old-growth yellow buckeye.
At the summit of Brasstown Bald the class took in a panoramic view from the visitor center and then hiked down through the gnarled, stunted trees characteristic of a high elevation forest.
