Background: Just like feet, bird beaks give clues about a bird's food, habitat, and behavior. Beaks can be used for swallowing, catching prey, tearing flesh, or grooming feathers

How to: Discuss the different functions bird's beaks can serve. Discuss different bird foods and the type of beak that is adapted for each type of food. Pass out the worksheet. Have the students match the food type with beak that is designed to eat it.
