Lunar Eclipse at FSC

Fernbank Science Center is pleased to offer public viewing hours of the total lunar eclipse on Sunday January 20th, 2019. The Dr. Ralph Buice Jr. Observatory features a 36” Cassegrain reflecting telescope. Additional smaller telescopes also will be used. The FSC planetary geologist will be on site to answer your questions about the Moon’s history and exploration and give lessons in lunar geography.

The observatory gates will open at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday night and close at midnight.

This event is contingent on clear skies and the observatory may be closed on short notice if the weather is not favorable.

For specific inquiries about this special event, please contact Scott Harris at scott.harris@fernbank.edu or Mark Lancaster mark.lancaster@fernbank.edu
